One of the key terms of the licensing agreement for Office 2013 is that only one copy of MS Word on one device can be used by one person at a time.
Types of Licenses for MS Word
Office 365 Home Premium’s license allows you to install the software on up to 5 PCs and Macs at the same time. The license for Office 2013 is for a single PC or Mac – you can only install this once on one computer. Office 2013 volume licensing is designed for business use for many computers, often running through a local network.
Activating Your Software
In order to use your MS Word software, you need to activate it on the computer. Activation is done electronically, sending all of your identifying information, including the version of the program you’re using and the Internet protocol address and information that identifies which computer the software can work on. If you want to use MS Word on another computer, you have to de-activate the software on the computer it was installed on and then install and activate it on the new computer.
