V-Ray Toon Parameters

Toon Render Elements Only – Apply only to toon render channels.

Width units– Specifies whether the width of the lines is measured in Pixels or in World units.

Line Color (map) – Specifies the color of the outlines.

Line Width – Specifies the width of the outlines. A texture map can be connected here to control the line width.

Inner Line Control – Allows you to use the same line color and line width parameters for the inner edges and the silhouette.

Line Color Inner (map) – The color of the cartoon line at the inner edges.

Normal Threshold – Determines when lines are created for parts of the same object with varying surface normals (for example, at the inside edges of a box). A value of 0.0 means that only 90 degrees or larger angles generate internal lines. Higher values mean that normals at smaller angles to one another can also generate an edge. Do not set this value to 1.0 as it fills curved objects completely.

Overlap Threshold – Determines when outlines are created for overlapping parts of one and the same object. Lower values reduce the internal overlapping lines, whereas higher values produce more overlapping lines. Do not set this value to pure 1.0 because it fills curved objects completely.

Visible in Reflections/Refractions – When enabled, the outlines appear in reflections/refractions as well. Note that this may increase the render time.

Trace bias – Determines the ray bias when the outlines are traced in reflections/refractions, dependent on the scale of your scene.

Exclude List – Specifies which geometry items are unaffected by the V-Ray Toon atmospheric. Use this option to vary the outlines for different geometry items in the scene. To do this, create several V-Ray Toon atmospherics and exclude unwanted items from each. Note that several items can be connected to the Exclude List using the Schematic. Group items can also be connected, in which case all geometry items in the group are affected.

Include Child Items – When enabled, all items that are children of the items in the Exclude List are excluded from the V-Ray Toon atmospheric.

As Inclusive List – Reverses the meaning of the Exclude List. When enabled, only the objects in the Exclude List are affected by the toon effect.

Depth Curve On – Enables depth-based line width.

Minimum Depth– Specifies the minimum depth for the Depth Curve On parameter.

Maximum Dpeth – Specifies the maximum depth for the Depth Curve On parameter.

Edit Depth Curve – Opens the Gradient Editor.

Angular Curve On – Enables view angle-based line width.
