Apple recently launched its next version of the macOS v10.15 operating system, nicknamed Catalina. Intuit® has identified data file incompatibility issues – which could cause data loss and crashes — between Apple’s new operating system and discontinued older versions of QuickBooks® Desktop for Mac 2015 and 2016, as well as between the new operating system and currently-supported earlier versions of QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2019 and 2020.

Based on testing, data loss and crash risks may occur in discontinued versions of QuickBooks, and in supported versions that haven’t been updated with the latest patch releases – including as a result of conversion of a company file from Mac to Windows and/or Windows to Mac, rebuilding of a company file, and restoring of a company file.
