This looks to me like an in-house ad, and the fact that it was posted anonymously increases my suspicions. Given how much detail the posting goes into, it's surprising that the author didn't mention that the cost of this product is USD 27. Not that there's anything wrong for charging for a product, but there is a responsibility to be upfront with advertising.

From the web site:

TypeIt4Me is NOT freeware. Although distributed via the shareware and demoware channels of Internet download sites, magazine or book cover-mounted floppies or CDs, user group libraries and on-line services (AOL, Compuserve, etc), it is commercial-grade © Copyrighted software and carries a price of $27, 25 euro or £16 for a single user licence fee. Discounts are available for multiple user licences.

Please respect this distribution method in your own and other users' interest, since it allows software authors to develop reasonably priced products by avoiding the high overheads associated with more traditional forms of boxed and packaged distribution.

When you pay the licence fee, you'll be e-mailed, faxed or mailed a code to stop the reminders to pay which will appear frequently on your screen after the intial 30-day trial period.

I registered at Mac OS X Hints in order to respond to your post. The reason my post was detailed is due to the fact I use TypeIt4Me all the time..it's invaluble. Since 1987 I have tried, trashed, and bought countless shareware products for the Mac . This is the one I use most. Sorry to disappoint you, I paid for it. I don't live in Italy or France or wherever Ettore resides. I don't think he employs anyone but I could be wrong. I've never spoken to him but did find the product so useful on OS 9 that when the first OS X version was released I sent him bug fixes and suggestions. I suggest you try it. It's so simple, it's mindless. In fact, the final step to convert a PC user friend of mine to the Mac was a demo of TypeIt4Me.

This seems inherently insecure to me. Especially if you have to manually encrypt your data file and decrypt it every time you want to use it.
I use Password Wallet. Works fine and syncs with my Palm.

A great app!” - AppRecap. “I think this program freaking rocks. Stop motion software mac.

I can vouch for Typeit4me - it is one of my few 'must have' utilities. I've tried QuickKeys, but it is over kill for what I need or want. Typeit4me is precise and easy to use. I don't use it for password retrieval - I let my Keychain do that for me, but as a HTML developer, I use far less keystrokes. For example, '<t' types out:
<table cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0 border=0 width='100%'>
<tr><td>
and '/t' gives me:
</td></tr></table>
Which saves me lots of time in coding!

Unfortunately t4me changed quite a bit from os9 to osX. I used to use it to store passwords in os9, and it was simply perfection. You could even insert a TAB character, so for most username and PW fields one command would be enough. It also had a nice menu that would drop down where you could select the entry you wish to use. Finally, it used some magick where it didn't simply copy and past the text, but actually fooled the computer into thinking you typed it, which meant that it ALWAYS worked.
The OSX version, unfortunately, does not work nearly as well, at least it didn't when I tried to use it. If I remember right, you could no longer insert TAB characters, the text is simply copied, the menu requires you to go to a submenu etc.
I now use drop drawers for the same task. Another interesting one is AutoID.
The ideal system would be to have the computer ask you for a universal password, and then insert all passwords and logins automatically until you log out. I'm still waiting, and unfortunately, not a programmer.

There may several factors that can interrupt the normal working procedure of Outlook for Mac. Outlook 2011 for mac won't connect to gmail. It requires so many things to align perfectly in order to work properly with an email account. In that case, users face a common issue i.e., Outlook for Mac not sending or receiving emails and ask for the solution to resolve it just like above-mentioned user-query.

I downloaded the Camino web browser-works great with OS X.It will remember passwords in in the keychain access-it is a great broswer-i love it. IE is not near as fast

I don't know if it's a stealth-ad or not, but TI4M really is a handy program. I use it to correct common mis-types, eg h-t-e becomes 'the' and that sort of thing.

TypeIt4Me works great in Panther! It installs in the Inputs panel of the International System Preference along with the Character Pallet and Keyboard Viewer. The original OS X version had issues. The latest version is as good as the OS 9 DA ;-)

..How exactly is this superior to using the built-in Mac OS X Keychain? It seems like your just creating more work for yourself and making your information LESS secure, all while paying $30 for it.
With the keychain, it can automatically enter the correct information in all forms on a page, or alternatively do it when you click a button. With this, you still have to select each individual form and input the correct key-combo. Plus you have to manually enter all this information into the application's database in the first place. And if all you have to do is type three letters to get your passwords in cleartext, how is it secure? Unless you enter your account password every single time?

If it is only being used for login/pass (as a few posts have mentioned) then it's probably not worth it, but this app's function goes far beyond such a simple role; it is designed to be used as an all day every day typing assist tool.

TypeIt4Me 6.0.1 (137)

TypeIt4Me expands your abbreviations as you type, and works in all applications, not just one. It also lets you define meaningful abbreviations, so you can type them naturally, as part of your writing, without memorizing - or reaching for - obscure ⌃⌘xyz combinations.
Anytime you enter text in your Mac by typing it at the keyboard, TypeIt4Me can help you do it faster and more accurately. First you define a number of abbreviations and the full text entries that they represent, then you watch the Mac expand them on the fly even as you continue typing!
